A couple of Bags

2 "new" bags. The teal one is an "early work" Loribelle bag that needed some tending. It's pretty but has some less than perfect stitching inside. Will be sold for less than other bags. The black & white is one I created after seeing some other bags & wanting one that was different but striking in just black & white.

More details to follow.

Sabrina Skinny Swing Sack!

This oh so cute swing bag is a custom bag for my teenage friend Sabrina. She showed me the style she liked and she picked out the fabrics. This bag is about 8 1/2" tall & 6 1/2" wide. There is a zipper pocket on the front flap and on the back of the bag. To ensure the flap stays shut, I've added a magnetic snap. Under the flap is a zipper and inside are more pockets. The inside pockets are slip style in different sizes to accommodate everything a 14 (almost 15) year old could possibly need. It will work if you are 24 to 104 or any age in between, as well!

This custom made quilted bag is $35. You can contact me directly if you'd like to have this darling bag made just for you or as a gift for someone you love.

Swing Bag and a Batik Ruffled Tote

Two new bags have just been finished for Loribelle Bags! The first one is a style I've shared before in THIS post. It's a Ruffled Market Tote. This one is designed with batiks and some mottled pink fabric for contrast. Like the original, this has the adjustable elastic tie that can be tightened to keep items in the bag tighter or loosened to allow you to access the bag completely. Outside you'll find a pocket for the essentials (digging for that cell phone on the bottom of your purse is never fun!). Inside are 2 large slip pockets on one side and 3 slightly smaller ones on the opposite side. The quilting on this one is different. This is free motion quilting in a meandering style (no particular pattern). This will go on my Etsy site soon for $35.00.

Next is a "prototype" for a swing bag a friend ordered. There are a lot of changes to be made to this bag from the sample you see here. I'm not even showing you the lining b/c it was really just thrown in and is not neat like I'd like it to be. I made this from scratch without any pattern so I was mainly working on getting the pieces to fit well and get the zipper in. The real bag will have a zippered pocket on the flap and a zippered pocket on the back of the bag. It will also have rounded corners. Plus, the flap will actually fit the bag and there will be real straps! LOL!

See if you can find the "hidden message" on the flap and why it's there. : )

Thank you for stopping by my website!

A Patchwork Bag

This bag is a variation of one I made last fall. If you go to my post HERE and scroll down you will see the pink/black zebra/polka-dot version. I'll add dimensions tomorrow, but will say for now that it is a VERY roomy bag. I've added slip pockets on both sides. One is a large single slip pocket and the other is divided into 3 sections, with one being slender for a pen and the others large enough for a cell phone or checkbook.

The quilting on this bag has some variations. You'll need to click on the close ups to see the details of the quilting. On the sides I did the standard "grid" quilting that I have done up to this point on my quilted bags. However, on the front and back I tried some new styles. I used a decorative stitch on the small patch with the "patchwork" look built into the fabric. I made one big X on the other top patch. Then on the lower patch I did a variation of free motion quilting. I followed the vines on the fabric to add a different look.

This bag will be on my Etsy site on Monday. If you would like to purchase it before then, you can leave a comment after this post. This bag is $30. As always, it can also be custom designed.

Harlequin and Polka Dots

This tote is just bursting with fun! The Harlequin diamond pattern makes me think this might be called, "Joker's Wild." This bag is quilted with ribbon added for a special detail on the front. Inside you'll have a long zippered pocket and a large drop pocket. The straps were made from wide ribbon which adds such charm to this bag!

This bag is $25. It can also be custom made with your choice of fabrics.

Pretty Paisley In Pink

A pretty purse in paisley and pink! This darling bag features a button top closure to keep items secure.

The inside has one large slip pocket on one side.

The other side has a zippered pocket.

What a great Mother's Day gift this would make! This bag is $25. You can order it directly from me for the next day and after that on my Etsy Store HERE. This bag can also be custom ordered in the fabrics of your choosing. Quilting is available for an additional charge.

Ruffled Market Tote

With "Earth Day" this month, this new bag is the perfect addition to the Loribelle Bags collection. Generously sized at 15" tall, 14" wide and 5" "deep" this bag can be used as a Market tote instead of the flimsy plastic bags. With this space and several slip pockets inside (FIVE!!!) it would make a perfect tote for just about any occasion. The front features a buttoned pocket sized just right for a cell phone or small billfold. I've attached elastic to the ties, so even with the bag cinched closed you can open it enough to insert items. You can also untie it and open it fully for easier access.

I've machine quilted this bag, which gives a nice layer of batting, or insulation. This should help keep cold foods cold longer than the little reusable bags or plastic bags. It also makes for a nice cozy tote to carry! While this bag wasn't originally designed to be reversible, if you want the pockets on the outside, there are no visible seams, so this can easily be turned inside out and used with the pink side out.

This bag is for sale for $35 and will be on Etsy in the next day or so. If you'd like to buy it before I list it on Etsy, please let me know. This same bag can be ordered as a custom bag in the colors of your choice for the same price.

Thanks!

PS, this bag doesn't have a person's name yet. I'll name it after the person who buys it.
